I taught myself Web Development when I realized a fast food job wasn't cutting it, but five years of making websites and two ulcers later, I needed a change.
While at work one day a coworker invited me to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in a couple months, and figuring I would never meet other people who would want to do something like this again I accepted their offer. I thought it would be a good idea to take photos while leaving the US for the first time so I bought a used Canon DSLR and one zoom lens.
Through the highs and lows of summiting the highest peak in Africa, I realized that photography called to me. But it wasn't even my accomplishment of reaching the summit that inspired me the most, it was the people that I met and helped me along the way. I tried to engage with as many people as I could and hear the things they had to tell even if to them they seemed like every day stories, because to me and many others they are unique and worth sharing.
